Who can ask for a review

You can ask for a complaint handling review if you:

    •  have had your complaint considered by a police
       force, police authority or policing agency; or
    •  were badly affected by something that led to a
       formal complaint against a police force, police
       authority or policing agency; or
    •  witnessed something that led to a formal complaint
       against a police force, police authority or
       policing agency. 

You can ask someone else to complain on your behalf if you prefer.

A police force, police authority or policing agency can also ask us to review how they have handled a complaint.
