One of the functions of the Police Complaints Commissioner for Scotland to ensure that all police bodies in Scotland have efficient and effective procedures  for complaints handling and that they are subject to continuous improvement and modernisation.

To make sure that this occurs the Commissioner and his team:

  • work with all stakeholders on an effective customer-focused police complaints handling system
  • conduct reviews in line with the PCCS audit policy to ensure arrangements are maintained
