The complainer requested that the PCCS review the handling of five of his complaints about Central Scotland Police which related to his arrest for assaulting an individual and his subsequent counter complaint of assault.
These complaints were not upheld. However the PCCS noted that the response provided by the force in relation to Complaint 1, that the force failed to record and investigate a complaint the complainer made whilst in custody, did not reflect the arresting officer's reasoning for not recording the complaint at the time. It was recommended that the force view this as a learning point.
