The complainer requested that the PCCS review the handling of five areas of complaint about Grampian Police, all of which originate from the way that the force dealt with a road traffic incident he was involved in.
The PCCS' view was that there were initial failings by the force in the handling of the complainer's complaints, but on further review this was indentified by the force and a full and thorough investigation into the complaints was carried out. However the PCCS felt that the force did not properly communicate its findings to the complainer. The PCCS therefore recommended that the force clearly communicate the learning points it found to the complainer, and provide an full explanation in relation to one complaint.
